Jake can cook!!!

Jake has always said that he likes to cook, but this week he has proved it! I was busy getting Kennedy to bed one night and Jake and I were both starving, so I asked Jake to get dinner started by boiling some water for the pasta. The next thing I know he is asking what we are having and what else he can do. I told him to look in the cookbook at the recipe I wanted to try. When I came downstairs 15 minutes later, I went to take over but Jake insisted he could handle it. Shortly thereafter, Jake served me dinner---yes, served! It was so YUMMY!!! We were both impressed and liked it so well that Jake decided he wanted to cook it again for dinner the next night. He told me it was pretty easy and I told him that pretty much everything I make is. I suggested we rotate cooking---we'll see if it really happens, but it's a great idea. Jake also decided we needed to make cookies to take to some friends and once again I was busy with Kennedy (story of my life), so Jake got out the mixer and made cookies! They were excellent---I think they tasted better than when I make them, or maybe it was just that I didn't have to put in any effort that made them taste so great! Wait, I take that back---I did put in some effort; I got stuck with half of the dishes and baking the batches after the first one was done. Anyways, Jake is a great cook and I am enjoying his efforts!!

Kennedy is now eating rice cereal. Maybe gagging it down is a better description. She's not so sure about it, but Jake and I find it quite entertaining. If she's anything like us she will love food --as soon as she learns to swallow!!

To all my BFFs--yes you!

So for those of you who saw the second post on my blog, if you haven't noticed by now the post was by my BFF, Kari. She was helping me establish my blog. For those of you who know her, she is absolutely awesome!!!! She was my first BFF here in Vegas and I wouldn't have (and still couldn't) survive without her. Now I have lots of BFFs and I want you all to know I love you too---I can;t imagine my life without any of you! Thanks for making Vegas the best place I have ever lived. I've never been popular before, and I LOVE it !!!!And if you want to be an author on my blog so you can post, let me know----I need all the help I can get ;)

OUCH!

So today I did what all new moms dread doing----I cut Kennedy's finger while clipping her nails! Can you see the band-aid? Pretty sad, huh?! Kennedy actually didn't cry or even flinch so it must not have hurt too bad. But talk about non-stop bleeding--hence the band-aid. They aren't kidding when they say it bleeds forever. It eventually stopped and wasn't too traumatizing---except for me! I guess I need to be extra careful next time (not that I am not already careful :). I am sure this is just the first of many band-aids, but hopefully I won't be the one inflicting the wound next time!

It's Raining---Literally!

So this week has been a rainy one in our lives---Jake was layed-off from his job, Kennedy and I are both sick, and our laptop crashed! And today, it has literally rained all day! I have finally decided that I like rain, real rain that is---I can do without the other "rain" in my life right now! It was nice to sit and just enjoy the rain today. It makes everything look clean and fresh. Hopefully I can weather the rain as well. Thank goodness for amazing friends and awesome family!!!

I'm Back!!!

Ok, so I promise to be better about posting. By now I'm sure that everyone has given up on me and probably isn't ever even checking my blog! Well, come back I plead. I promise to be better! You know how life gets---WAY TOO BUSY!!! But that's no excuse. Kennedy is getting in a groove and I think I'm FINALLY adjusting. Look for another post soon!

HELLLLLOOOOOOOOOOO?!?!?!?

So it's been quite a while since I posted. I knew I wasn't going to be very good at this blog thing. I am still here; just overwhelmed with this new mom stuff. I will post something more interesting and with pictures when I have a minute. As for now, know that we are all well and hope you are too!!

Baby it's cold outside!!

Who says it doesn't snow in Vegas?? We have proof it does. We measured 11 inches on our grass and 8 everywhere else. It snowed all day yesterday--it was beautiful! That is until everyone tried to drive in it. People were stranded everywhere and abandoning their cars. Thank goodness Jake made it home safe!

P.S. Anyone know where we can get a snow shovel?!?!

Sunday, December 7th, 2008 we blessed Kennedy. She looked so beautiful in her blessing dress that Grandma and Grandpa Wood brought her from Italy. Jake did such a wonderful job on the blessing! We were blessed to be surrounded by our family and close friends. Thanks everyone for your love and support!!

So our VERY BESTEST FRIENDS in the whole wide world are the Nashes. They're pretty much the coolest people EVER! We love them to pieces and felt like they deserved to be the 2nd post on our blog, second only to the announcement that we now have a blog so technically they are the first post!! If you guys haven't met them yet, you are REALLY missing out because they are super fun and totally cool.
