I HATE our MAC!!!!

Don't tell Jake, but I HATE our Mac----maybe it's just that I am not smart enough to use it. Everytime I get on there's been an update, or a setting change and I can't figure out how to do what I need to do. Plus when you only have 5 minutes (because there are other things to do in the short time your baby naps) it's SO frustrating!!!! I was going to post cute pictures of Kennedy that I finally downloaded, but nope they won't pull up in Blogger. So now you get this lame post. Stupid Mac...or maybe it's stupid me, but either way don't be expecting pictures anytime soon. I guess I really am old....I can't even work a computer :(

It's a Miracle.......

KENNEDY SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!!! Yes, you heard right, last night Kennedy slept through the night. Let me just clarify---this does NOT mean that she did not wake up and scream, just that I held out and it stopped 10 minutes later and I didn't hear from her the rest of the night. This is truly a miracle seeing as she hasn't slept well in over a week!!!! Maybe she really didn't sleep, but I was just too tired to hear her. In any case, I put Kennedy in bed at about 8:45pm and did not enter her room again until 7:45 this morning. WOW!!! If this continues, I'll be a new woman soon. I highly doubt it will continue, but I can always hope, right?! This could be my Christmas miracle!

Kennedy is 1

WOW!!! What a lot of celebrating we did for Kennedy's 1st Birthday. She had grandparents and cousins come and visit and then we spent the weekend in St. George with them for the marathon. Fun, Fun, Fun!!!! Kennedy loved every minute of it. She really loved when people sang "Happy Birthday" to her---lucky for her that happened many times.
How quickly this year has gone by-----Kennedy, WE LOVE YOU!!!!!

Let the Celebration Begin!!!

Kennedy will be 1 on Friday!!!! Grandma and Grandpa Wood came and spent the weekend to kick-off the celebration. Kennedy wasn't so interested in unwrapping the gifts, but loved playing with the ribbons. She got her most favorite things: books and Oreos along with a farm and cute clothes! She loved the necklace that Grandma brought for me....hence her necklaces in the pictures. We had so much fun and can't wait to celebrate even more this week!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KENNEDY!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!

Imagine......

Imagine a beautiful August day in Salt Lake. Imagine a beautiful bride, a handsome groom, and their entire extended family. Imagine great bridesmaid dresses, cute little girls dresses, orange ties for the guys. Imagine Cold Stone icecream and wedding cake for refreshments. Imagine a tent, flowers, and outdoor lights. Are you imagining it? Good because I FORGOT to take my camera to my sister's wedding!!!! OOPS!!! I'm still waiting to see if I ever get any pictures from anyone else. Just know that we had a great trip to Salt Lake last week and the wedding was fabulous. Hopefully I have learned my lesson and won't ever forget my camera again, right?! Pictures to come soon....if I ever get any!!

Kennedy's New Hat

This morning when I got out of the shower Kennedy was staring at the shower cap I was wearing. So I decided I should let her try it on. Does she look like she likes it? Maybe, maybe not!

Quick Trip

Draper, Utah Temple

Friday morning Kennedy and I drove up to St. George and met up with my sister and her family to drive to Salt Lake to be at the temple with my other sister when she received her endowment on Saturday morning. 4 kids, 3 adults, 1 suburban, and 36 hours; sounds like a recipe for disaster, but it was great. The kids did very well in the car---we didn't even make a stop! The Draper Temple was beautiful and it was so nice to be with my family there. We are home now safe and sound. It was a quick trip, but well worth it.

I'm not so smart!

I was so proud of myself for finally changing the background on my blog--Yay for me!
That is until I viewed it AFTER I had saved the changes! So much for any commentary to all my old posts. All the words are GONE!!! Hopefully you read them already because I don't know what happened or how to get it back---HELP!!!
Well, atleast it's cute now and everyone just wants to see pictures anyway.
So apparently I'm not that smart---not that I really thought I was anyway, but you know?!

Kennedy's 1st Ponytail

So Kennedy's hair is finally long enough (on the top) to put it in a ponytail. I thought this would be a great new way to keep her clips in her hair seeing as she pulls the headbands off....well she's too smart. About 10 minutes later this bow was out and half the ponytail too. Thus the battle begins. I remember being little and hating getting my hair done. Oh the price we pay for beauty!

Classic Kennedy with her tongue sticking out!

Splish Splash

So Kennedy has graduated to the big tub for her baths and she absolutely LOVES it!!! She loves to make her fish float and she also loves to kick--Jake and I end up as wet as her! Another new favorite thing is brushing her teeth....I mean gums (she still doesn't have teeth!!) As soon as she sees the "toothbrush" she opens her mouth. Hopefully this is the start of a healthy habit!

Yum---toothpaste
How cute is that?!?!

I LOVE FOOD!!

So those of you that know me well know that I LOVE food! I love to eat food, make food, shop for food, look at food, etc. It's a wonder I don't weigh 300 lbs!! I haven't always loved food, but I do now. The only problem is that I eat too much of the bad stuff and not enough of the right stuff. I would rather have a cookie than anything else...morning, noon, or night. I do admit I have eaten dessert (i.e. angel food cake) for breakfast! What a bad example I am setting for Kennedy! I have been thinking that I need to start watching what I eat. Pregnancy and breastfeeding have been really good excuses to eat everything and anything I want and as much of it as I want! I was needing some motivation, but instead I have been forced!!! Kennedy has tested positive for some severe food allergies, and seeing as I am still breastfeeding, that means that I can't eat those foods either! Do you feel sorry for me?!?! I feel sorry for myself! I am currently limited to fruits, veggies, meat, and rice. Exciting, huh? I think the best thing I have had to eat all week is a sweet potato. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but that is definitely no treat for me. I am dying for a cookie!!!! Not to mention that veggies don't stay with you very long...I'm always starving. I'm sure I'll survive; I know it could be worse. You know it's bad though when you dream about food. I totally had a dream last night that I ate a huge piece of cheesecake WITH the knowledge that I shouldn't be doing it. Thank goodness it was only a dream and I really didn't eat it! I love Kennedy so much that she's worth it! I really can't wait for a cookie though. This may be my motivation to wean her.....as soon as she decides she can survive on something besides breastmilk. So far we are hoping that coconut milk will do the trick. I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, have a treat for me....just don't tell me because I will be jealous ;)

Time Flies When You're Having Fun......

So it's been quite a while since my last post. Since Hawaii we have been to Salt Lake (twice), St. George, and Jake's been to Delaware (twice) and finally to Sacramento. We are all home and back together now. I think we'll stay put for a while. Here is a picture summary of the last 2 months: trips, birthdays, visits to and from grandparents and cousins, summer fun, and graduation. I'll try to be better about staying more current!

ALOHA!!!

This past week we went to Oahu. Jake had received a travel card from Pfizer that had to be used before the end of April, soooooooo we went to Hawaii and took Kennedy. Call us crazy, but we did it! It turned out pretty good too--a few snags, but overall a great vacation. Kennedy was perfect on both of the flights--thank goodness! Here are a few pictures. We don't have pictures from Pearl Harbor or snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, but here is pretty much everything else. My aunt and uncle live in Oahu, so we had babysitters too! Lucky us!
